Holistic Detox Retreat
Dao of Rejuvenation
Even if ones eat healthy food or not, the natural process of combustion and digestion, and the experience of negative emotional and mental states which triggers the release of very toxic chemicals leave toxins behind, which accumulate and clog the main filters of the body and intoxicate the blood and lead to holistic imbalances. In the Daoist tradition, fasting and purifying the 3 bodies are imperative practices. The holistic methods of the Daoist Detox work are applied simultaneously during the training. All along the physical purification through the Detox Diet (1), the Therapeutic Fasting (2), and the Wise Retox (3), tools to approach emotional and mental/spiritual surges will be shared.
* Note that the options of either a Pure Water Fast or of a Supplemented Fast are available. The products used for the Supplemented Fast are high-grade organic products. You can make your choice of the Holistic Detox Retreat Registration Form.
Module A: DAO OF REJUVENATION
The Art of Holistic Cleansing
An essential cleansing on a healing journey. This deep detoxification is composed of 3 days of preparatory “Detox Diet” before entering 7 days of fasting and followed by 3 days of superfood replenishment to feed the blood and rejuvenate rapidly. During the first 3 days, detoxifying foods are served to initiate the cleansing and to fill the body’s reserves with vitamins and minerals. Then one shift on 7 days either taking only alkaline water or supporting the blood and organs with herbal blends. During this training one learns the protocol of a holistic therapeutic fasting in order to proceed safely and efficiently. One will learn to cleanse blood, lymph and Qi, the 5 organs (zang) and the 5 entrails (fu). Includes all foods and supplements, mild Qi Gong exercises, Dao Yin Yoga, self-massages, healing sounds and other healing meditation.
Dao Yin Basics
This training teaches how to open and harmonize the spine and the 12 meridians with gentle yogic stretches and how to activate the various systems of the body with self-massages.
Ba Duan Jin Qi Gong
Baduanjin is one of the most common forms of Chinese Qi Gong also known as Eight Pieces of Brocade. As the name evoques, the form is composed of eight individual movements that are woven like a brocade and aim to induce a silken quality to the body and its energy. The Baduanjin is essentially a form of medical qigong designed to improve health. This form, due to its mild aspect, offers an excellent contribution to the detox process.
The Baduanjin as a whole is broken down into eight separate exercises, each focusing on a different physical area and energy channel. The Baduanjin traditionally contains both a standing and seated set of eight postures each. In the modern era, the standing version is by far the most widely practiced.
Yangshuo is popular among tourists for its karst peaks, rivers, caves, and temples as well as its laid back cafes and bars. As such, the city is visited by a large number of Chinese tourists and foreigners alike, and has a relatively big ex-pats community.
Yangshuo is now a relatively large tourist town, different from most typical Chinese towns. It is relatively air and noise pollution free, (provided you get away from major roadways), very clean and does not usually suffer from endless massive traffic chaos. Instead, it harbours wonderful restaurants and shops, an almost unlimited number of hotels and hostels, and is fairly developed by mainland Chinese standards. Yangshuo is well-known amongst travellers in Southern China, and is a major stop on the trail of many independent travellers. The main reason people stop in the town is to explore the local countryside by bike, try their hand on the world class rock-climbing sites or take a bamboo raft down the river, viewing the famous ¥20 scene in the process.
